Been really tight with time the past week with work as I've been working full day. After my first day, I could tell that I won't be able to accomplish much with just a half day esp while I'm just beginning so I decided to do full time weekdays & half-days on Fri & Sat. This means I don't have much spare time at all & I only manage to read a couple of blogs everyday.

I came here mainly to post an offer after seeing the above charity kits today. When I can afford it & the charity is something that touches me, I usually buy but I very seldom download the kit itself. Whenever I do that, it feels a bit of a waste of a nice kit & that it would be nice if I could give the kit to somebody who likes it but couldn't fit into their budget. I couldn't figure out how though until now. With this, I can donate & someone can get the benefit of the kit.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I DO actually have a few readers to make this work!

A lazy Sunday & some freebies

Sarah, Linda - thanks!!! It always makes my day getting a comment & knowing there are actually people visiting :D Linda, we work on Sat but not on Sun :)

Doesn't look like this will be a productive weekend at all! Got home from work on Sat at 5pm at the same time as Mac from school and basically just lazed around the whole night. Today (Sun), we'd planned to go hunting in a few malls to try to find an outfit for Mac's end-of-year school event in Nov. His team is going to dance to Abba's Dancing Queen & we're required to get him white/black pants & a long-sleeved white/black "shiny" shirt before Nov. Doesnt look like we'll be going anywhere now - Mac & I woke up at 1pm, it's now 5pm and we've all just been sitting around feeling too lazy to do anything. I havent even read more than a few newsletters & havent started on a single photo. Oh well.. there's always next weekend!

Worked full day today till 7pm (trying to make up for a dismal 1st day) but it was a good day results-wise. Mac has started a runny nose & slight cough (caught from me :( ) & today had a slight fever so I told Colin to skip school today. He's fine otherwise, not displaying any 'sickliness'. There's no school tomorrow being Friday (his school follows the govt schedule which has Fri & Sun off) so I'll work half-day & might even be home before he wakes up since he tends to sleep till at least noon. Hopefully I'll also have some time to finally finish editing his birthday photos from 2 weeks ago!

Linda, Barbara, Sarah - thanks for the visit & leaving comments! I didnt realise I never set an email address to be notified of comments so I missed them entirely. Wish I didnt have to put it on moderation but I got so fed up of all the weird comments I kept getting. Not to mention I would get all excited everytime I see I have a comment only to see it's spam~!  Linda, all those coincidences are quite amazing really! There definitely must be some sort of connection between us! :D

If I were doing P365, today would be one of the rare few days where I'd actually have something to write about myself. After almost exactly 4 years enjoying being a layabout, today I started working again. It's temporary, part-time (half-day but I can work full day if I wish) plus I don't get a salary, only commission. But the job offers the ideal compromise for me at this time (well, as long as I manage to earn something!) - some income without too much sacrifice of time with Mac. Wish me luck, please!! I really hope this would work out so I can delay a full-time job hopefully for another year...

090911 Freebie & Sales

FYI, this may be my last post till next Tues. I reckon we'll be out a lot but if I get the time to blog hop, I'll post whatever I manage to find. If not, I'll see you Tues.

Sorry I didnt manage to get this up yesterday, I was feeling somewhat under the weather, took a 'little' afternoon nap & wound up sleeping till 10pm. Working on this now while trying to get a LO done.

09-09-09 was a milestone birthday for me - I turned 20..... again :D I was reminiscing a little about the last "0" bday I had - 10 yrs ago on 09-09-99. There's such a huge difference, in my state of mind & priorities. I was newly single, had personal stuff going on & I was an emotional yoyo & drama queen. Now I have Colin & Mac & too lazy to get worked up over anything :) I got my fave gift ever though - 3 birthday cards from Colin, he said he couldnt think what to get :D It was so sweet, he wrote in all 3 cards part 1, 2 & 3 and even had a poem & it ended with a marriage proposal. (which while I didnt reject, I didnt accept either. Not till 3 years later. I'm slow in everything!)

These are some pics from a few nights ago when we treated a couple of our friends to dinner to celebrate. We went to try the new branch of our favourite Japanese restaurant. Love me some Japanese, cant believe I used to think they were gross! Most of the pics came out icky & I 'forgot' to get one of myself.

Those 2 are our best friends here & the only people we hang out with regularly. So any 'going out' photos will usually contain them :)
Mac loves playing with the chopsticks.
My usual order for Mac would be the miso soup, tamago sushi, chawan mushi and sometimes a garlic or fried rice. These are pretty much the only things he would eat, sadly, he seems to have inherited pickiness from me. Here he's enjoying the pudding, it comes with ice-cream :) One good thing about Mac though - he's not greedy (unlike his mama) & knows when he's had enough so cake, ice-cream, whatever, if he's already full, he's not interested.

This is Steph. Mac went over to sit with him & chattered non-stop for quite a while :D In the 2nd pic, Mac's doing one of his recent fave game "I want to tell you something" & then whisper whatever stuff he can think of at the time like 'I'm Optimus Prime' or 'I love biscuits'.


Fooling around with Mac on my birthday. Not the most flattering :D I took the pics upside-down & was extremely tempted to leave them that way!

090907 Freebies & Sales

Yesterday, we went to find Mac's cake. We found one in the 2nd bakery we went to but itt wasn't what I'd imagined, it was rectangle & not shaped & the design didn't seem very well done but Mac chose it so we went with it. I spent some time with the salesgirl redesigning it a little to make it less cluttered and fussy, hopefully I havent made it worse than it is now. I did emphasise a few times to make sure to change one of the Rangers colour to orange!

Then we went to look for his present but no luck. We'd planned to get one of those Vrtech consoles but we could only get it in Miri or back home & since we're not going back as we'd originally thought, we have to think of something else. My current idea is to get a Nintendo Wii or Sony PS3. I checked out the games on internet & seems there are preschooler games like Dora & Diego so we'll probably go with that. I'd like to get one more gift though, something with more oomph when he opens it up as a game console probably wont look very interesting to Mac. I was really hoping there would be new Transformers stock so I can pick up Bumblebee or Mudflap for him.

Then this afternoon, our friend came by for a chat & to look at Mac's old baby stuff - stroller, carrier, crib, bottle warmer etc. They're expecting and wanted to get those secondhand. We sold it cheaply as they've been taking a lot of space although I do feel a pang at letting them go. I'm a packrat. At least the funds can go towards Mac's presents.

Sorry, too much yakking.

090903 Freebie & Sales

Grace, of course that isn't being nosy, indeed I'm touched you would care to enquire :) The doctor's pretty sure Mac has UTI. I didn't want to mention it the other day as I was in a rush & worried I might sound indelicate if I didn't take the proper time to watch my words in describing his symptoms :) UTI was one of my suspicions but because he only felt pain in certain positions, we thought perhaps he had wounded himself somehow. He's now on 5 days of Augmentin & we have to go back again this Fri. He's apparently feeling totally fine now though :)

LOL, Melanie, lucky it was tomatoes & not vodka that you craved :) I havent had a drop of alcohol since then, for some reason I've just lost the taste for it totally!

Beth, what a lovely thing to say, you gave me the biggest smile! Wish you were still scrapping & blogging :)

Mac's birthday's coming up fast & I'm still not sure how to celebrate it. We were originally supposed to be back in our hometown at this time for a few weeks to accompany my FIL because Colin's sister had accepted a job transfer overseas & there would be no-one at home with him till Colin's eldest sister in Singapore finished her job notice & return home.
So I'd been expecting we could do a party as there will be family & kids, all his cousins. I was considering a high-tea buffet by the pool in one of the hotels, more fun for Mac with all the kids whereas here, we don't really know any kids so hard to do a kiddie party.
At least I know what cake I need to get - Mac said he wants an orange Power Ranger cake. He loves orange & currently into Power Rangers & was I think disappointed there were no orange Power Rangers :) This is definitely something I must find for him.
I think the best I can do is a simple party at home - cater some food, rent a bouncer, invite my neighbour's kids & some of our friends. The hitch is, with the bouncer, we'll need to make it a late afternoon event so the kids would have enough time to play but this is the Muslim puasa (fasting) month & our neighbours & kids are Muslims so I'm not sure if afternoon is do-able or if we should make it evening close to their breaking-fast time.

Ugh sorry, I'm already more than a day late & here I'm still babbling!
